VIA LEIPZIGER RAUM was developed as part of the interdisciplinary research project “Vermessene Realitäten – Kartografische Konstruktionen von Wirklichkeit”.
The installation invited visitors to contribute their own perceptions of place, gradually forming a changing collective map through images, memories and interaction.
Presented in Wurzen in 2022, the project explored how subjective experience can become part of a shared visual representation of a city.

"Imaginäre Räume rund um die Postmeilensäulen
Mit Juliana und Andrey Vrady konnte man sich „Via Leipziger Raum“ auf eine visuelle Projektion einlassen, „um imaginäre Räume um die Postmeilensäule aufzuspannen“. Besuchern konnten mit Hilfe künstlicher Intelligenz persönliche Emotionen entlockt werden, die als interaktive Installation sichtbar wurden. Zunächst auf dem Computermonitor, und mit Einbruch der Dunkelheit als schon Projektion an einer Hauswand.

Im Ergebnis werde deutlich, was der Mensch zwar wisse, ihm jedoch nicht immer bewusst sei. „Wir sind als Individuum alle einzigartig, wie auch die Orte, in denen wir leben einzigartig sind“, zeigte sich Juliana Vrady überzeugt davon."
